Syamozersky volost

Syamozero volost - volost in the Petrozavodsk district of the Olonets province .

General information

The volost government was located in the village of Syamozersky pogost .

The volost included rural societies , including 79 villages: [1]

  • Syamozero society
  • Chapel society
  • Salmenizh society
  • Kungozersky society
  • Lakhtinsky society
  • Weshkel Society

In 1890, the population of the volost was 6706 people [2] .

In 1905, the population of the volost was 7122 people. In the volost there were 1,551 horses, 2,959 cows and 4,982 heads of other livestock.

By the Decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of August 4, 1920, the Karelian labor commune was formed in the areas inhabited by Karelians of the Olonets and Arkhangelsk provinces and the volost became part of the Karelian labor commune. In 1923, the volost became part of the autonomous Karelian SSR [3] .

During the reform of the administrative-territorial division of the USSR in 1927, the volost was abolished.

Currently, the territory of the Syamozersky volost belongs to the Pryazhinsky district of the Republic of Karelia .
