Career
Ball Hockey
The pupil of the Orenburg hockey with the ball . Since 1950, he began playing as a midfielder in the children's team Petrel.
In 1956 he moved to Alma-Ata , where he first played as part of the Petrel team, and since 1963 - in Dynamo .
In the championships of the USSR he played about 286 matches, scored 20 goals. Bronze medalist of the championships of 1966 and 1967. He entered the symbolic national team of the season (1969). Master of Sports of the USSR (1961).
Field Hockey
Also played field hockey. In 1969 - 1971 he played for Dynamo ( Alma-Ata ), the second prize-winner of the USSR championships (1970, 1971).
Refereeing career
Ball Hockey
At the end of his career, he switched to refereeing. Arbitrator of the All-Union Category (1974). From 1970 to 1989, Vyacheslav Georgievich Ilyin judged the matches of the major league teams. Six times (1974, 1975, 1979, 1982, 1986, 1988) was included in the lists of the ten best referees of the USSR. Since 1975, the IBF referee has refereed the matches of the 1975 World Cup and European Cup.
Field Hockey
From 1973 to 1989, he also judged field hockey matches. Judge of the All-Union Field Hockey Category (1977), referee of the FIH (1977).
Teaching
