Club
Petr Mrazek was born in the city of Ostrava. In his youth he played at the hockey club Vitkovice. In the 2007/08 season he made his debut in the Czech Extra League . In 2009, he became the Czech champion for players no older than 20 years old.
In the summer of 2009, he was selected by the Canadian League Draft by the Ottawa 67th Club. He decided to move to North America, where he played in the junior leagues for the next three seasons.
In 2011, in the NHL draft, rights for the player were assigned to the Detroit Red Wings . In 2012, he moved to the Detroit farm club in the AHL - Grand Rapids Griffins , in which he won the Calder Cup in 2013.
In the 2015/16 season, he became the main goalkeeper of the Red Wings. In the winter of 2018, he was exchanged to the Philadelphia Flyers for the right to choose in the 3rd round of the draft 2018 .
After the season ended, the Flyers did not offer the goalkeeper a new contract, and Mrazek entered into a 1-year $ 1.5 million contract with Carolina Hurricanes .
Czech national team
He played for the junior and youth teams of the Czech Republic. At the 2012 World Youth Championship, he was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. In the same year, he made his debut for the Czech Republic's national team at the World Cup, where he won a bronze medal. In 2016, he participated in the world cup .
