Title
Until February 6, 1998 the city was called Pivnichna (Polish. Piwniczna , Ukrainian. Pivnichna ).
History
In 1348, the Polish king Casimir III issued a script on the founding of the city of Pivnichna in the place called “Basement Neck” (Polish: Piwniczna Szyja , Pivnichna Neck). The city was on a trade route to Hungary. After the first partition since 1772 as part of the Habsburg Empire (in the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria ). In 1931, therapeutic mineral waters were opened on the territory of the city and the construction of a balneotherapy resort began . Due to the fact that the city is located in a mountainous area , a ski resort also appeared here.
