Philippe du Beck-Crespin ( French Philippe du Bec-Crespin ; 1519 - January 10, 1605) - French church leader, archbishop and duke of Reims , primat de Belgique ( primat de Gaule-Belgique ), peer of France , commander of the Order of the Holy Spirit .

Biography
The second son of Charles du Beck-Crespin, Senor de Burri, Vice Admiral of France, and Madeleine de Beauville-Saint-Enigne, ladies du Plessis.
Originally dean of the church of Saint-Maurice in Angers , in 1559 he was elected bishop of Bath , after the removal of Sebastien de Lobepin . Participated in the Council of Trent , where he demonstrated erudition and piety. In 1566 transferred to the department of Nantes .
He was close to the kings of Henry III and Henry IV , became the leader of the royal chapel. He represented the bishop and duke of Lansky at the coronation of Henry IV on February 27, 1594 in the Chartres Cathedral . On July 25 of the same year he was appointed king to the post of Archbishop of Reims, and on December 7, 1595 he was appointed commander of the Order of the Holy Spirit.
Philippe du Beck's proximity to royal power provoked strong hatred of this prelate from the Catholic League , accusing him of having connections with Calvinists .
In 1601, he was partially paralyzed, and asked to appoint a co-adjudicator to manage the diocese. He died in 1605 at the age of 85.
