General information
Located about 100 km northwest of the city of Odnadatta and 250 km north-east of Coober Pedy . The desert area is small, only about 1250 square kilometers (480 sq. Miles) [1] .
It belongs to the biogeographic region of Finke (Finke) [2] . The sands of Pedyroka are deep red. Acacia species Acacia aneura grows in the desert [2] . The dunes are low and parallel.
The desert is not particularly popular with nature lovers, so its territory is gradually being built up [2]
