Scallop patiria ( lat.Patiria pectinifera ) is a species of starfish from the genus Patiria in the family of the asterinids of the order Valvatida. Very unpretentious and numerous view.

Appearance and structure
They have a wide disc and very short rays. Rays are usually five, but occasionally individuals with four or even nine rays are found. Diameter up to 18 cm. The upper side is slightly convex, blue (from blue to dark blue) with bright spots (from red to orange). The ventral side is flat, monophonic, yellow [1] , on it there are short combs of small needles connected by a membrane [2] .
Distribution and habitat
They live along the coast of the Pacific Ocean from the South Kuril Islands and Aniva Bay) to the Yellow Sea [2] . They are found from the littoral to a depth of 40 m. Juveniles hide under stones in the littoral [1] .
Nutrition
Omnivores scavengers and predators. Having discovered the corpse of a large animal, they “turn” the stomach on it and digest it outside their body. Small animals are swallowed [1] .
