History
Located in wooded areas, the village of Kobylka was known already in the 15th century. The first written mention of Kobylka dates back to 1415 and refers to the existence of the parish church. And in the XVIII century, thanks to the efforts of Bishop Martin Zalouski, who wanted to make him a center of pilgrimage, the village was granted a royal city charter. During the Kosciuszko Uprising and the partition of Poland, the city was badly damaged. The most famous historical fact associated with this city is the Battle of Kobylka during the Kosciuszko uprising on October 15 (26), 1794.
During the Second World War , bloody battles also unfolded here.
