The Maritime Museum was located on Feldman Boulevard, 3 (now Primorsky Boulevard ) in the house of Marini (an architectural monument of national importance, security number 1458/3, architect Giovanni Frapolli ). In 1941-1944, during the Romanian-German occupation of Odessa, the museum was plundered. In 1965, the museum resumed its work as the Museum of the Marine Fleet of the USSR [1] in the building of the former English Club ( 6 Lanzheronovskaya St. ). The building was built in 1842 by the architect Gregorio Torricelli .
For the period from 1965 to 2005, 11 million visitors got acquainted with the museum exposition [2] .
