Content
Biography
Born on June 22 ( July 5 ), 1902 in the village of Sergeevich (now the Pukhovichi district , Minsk region , Belarus ). In 1925 he entered the BSAA , which he graduated in 1930.
In 1932 - 1953 he headed the department of forestry and dendrology of the BLTI , at the same time he worked as a researcher, then he headed the sector and served as deputy director of the Belarusian Research Institute in Gomel .
Director of the Forest Institute (1953-1956), also headed the department.
Head Laboratory of Geobotany and Director of the Institute of Experimental Botany (1956-1967).
He died in 1991.
Scientific work
The main scientific works are devoted to the study of the laws of the distribution of types and associations of forest, meadow and bog vegetation of the BSSR . He is a follower of V. I. Sukachev.
He developed the teachings of V.I.Sukachev on the type of forest biogeocenosis as applied to the specific conditions of the BSSR . Academician - Academy of Sciences of the BSSR (1956-1991). President of the Belarusian Botanical Society (1957-1991).
Awards and Prizes
