Biography
Felix Aboagier was born on December 5, 1975 in the Ghanaian city of Kumasi.
Club career
He began his professional career in 1992 in the club championship of Ghana - " Davou Yangstar ". In the 1992/93 season, Felix scored 8 goals, just 4 goals behind in the top scorer Augustin Ahinful [1] .
In 1993 he moved to the Egyptian Al-Ahly team from the city of Cairo. As a member of the team, he became the champion of Egypt five times in a row and twice won the Arab Super Cup . Aboagye was the main player and played for Al-Ahly in 117 matches and scored 47 goals.
In the summer of 1998, he moved to the Greek Olympiacos from the city of Piraeus, where Felix played along with two compatriots Peter Ofori-Quay and Coffey Ampons . In August 1998, he participated in the Colombino tournament in Spain, where Olympiacos took the 4th place [2] . Together with the team became the champion of Greece , but Felix played just 11 games, while scoring only 1 goal. Then, the Ghanaian played for An-Nasr from Dubai, Qatar UK and Liberty Professionals . In 2001, he became a player in the Egyptian Zamalek . Together with the team won the Super Cup and the Cup of Egypt , and also won the bronze medalist of the championship [3] .
From 2002 to 2003, he was a Kuwaiti Al-Arabi player. In 2003, he moved to the Indian Mahindra United , he played 17 games in the team and scored 6 goals, becoming the bronze medalist of the championship and the owner of the Indian Super Cup [4] . Later, he played for another Indian club - “ East Bengal ”. From 2005 to 2006, he played in Vietnam for the Can Tho and Khatoko Khanh Hockey clubs. In 2007 he performed in the Maldives for Valencia from the city of Male. He completed his career in 2009 in the team “ Mumbai ”.
Since 2013, he has been an assistant to the head coach in the Liberian Professionals team in Ghana [5] [6] .
Career in the national team
As a member of the national team of Ghana, he performed from 1994 to 2000, having played 26 games with the national team, scoring 7 goals. In July 1994, he played at the Asix Cup, where Ghana played two games against Japan [7] . At the end of 1994, he participated in the Simba 4 Nations Tournament in South Africa [8] . In early 1996, he participated in the African Cup of Nations in South Africa. The national team of Ghana took the fourth place, losing in the match for bronze awards to the team of Zambia with a score (0: 1) [9] . Aboagier took part in four games and scored one goal.
In August 1996, the head coach of the Olympic team of Ghana, Sam Arday, summoned Felix to the Atlanta Summer Olympics . In the team, he received 12 number. In their group, the Ghanaians ranked second, losing to Mexico , overtaking South Korea and Italy . In the quarterfinals, Ghana lost to Brazil (2: 4). Aboagier at the tournament played in all four matches and scored a goal against Brazil [10] .
In December 1996, he played in the solidarity tournament in Benin [11] . In February 1998, he took part in the African Cup of Nations in Burkina Faso, while Ghana was not able to leave the group. Aboagier played in all three games in the tournament.
