Biography
Konstantin was the eldest son of Ioanne I (1755-1801), Prince Mukhransky (1778-1801) and Tsarevna Ketevan Irakliyevna (1764-1840), daughter of the king of Georgia Heraclius II . In October 1801, after the death of his father, Konstantin inherited the Mukhran inheritance in Eastern Georgia ( Kartli-Kakheti kingdom ). In the last years of the existence of the Georgian kingdom, he was among those high-ranking dignitaries who saw the future of Georgia as part of the Russian Empire and opposed the accession to the throne of David XII , the eldest son of Tsar George XII .
When Georgia was annexed to Russia in 1801, the status of the princes of Mukhran as sovereign was abolished. The Mukhran inheritance, together with Eastern Georgia, was included in Russia. The loyalty of Konstantin Bagration-Mukhransky to the new regime was rewarded with the ranks of Colonel in 1808 and Major General in 1817.
On March 10, 1812, Prince Konstantin Ivanovich Bagration-Mukhransky was elected the second leader of the nobility of the Tiflis province. He retired from military service in 1838.
