Biography

Dejan Paic was born on August 15, 1989 in the city of Sabac, Machvansky District , Yugoslavia .

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 2009 season, when he got into the main team of the Serbian national team and visited the Mediterranean games in Italian Pescara , from where he brought the bronze dignity award, won with team-mate Dusko Stanoyevich in the standings of two-seater kayaks at a distance of 1000 meters . A year later, he performed at the World Championships in Polish Poznan, where, together with the same Stanoevich, he won bronze in twos at five hundred meters, losing only to crews from Belarus and Portugal at the finish.

In 2012, Paich won two silver medals at the European Youth Championship in the Portuguese city of Montemor-u-Velho - in the standings of double kayaks at distances of 500 and 1000 meters. At the same time, in the adult European Championship in Croatian Zagreb, he took silver in a half-kilometer kayak-two-race. In 2015, at the European Championships in Czech Račice, he won a bronze medal in singles at five hundred meters - only Dane Rene Holten Poulsen and German Tom Liebher were ahead of him at the finish.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, Dejan Pajic was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . Started in the program of four-seater crews at a distance of 1000 meters together with such rowers as Marko Tomichevich , Milenko Zorich and Vladimir Torubarov - they qualified from the sixth place at the preliminary stage, then finished third in the semifinal stage and thus made their way into the main final "A". In the decisive final race, however, the last eighth time was shown, lagging behind the winning crew from Germany by more than eight seconds. In addition, Pajic participated in the Games in a single kilometer discipline - from fourth place he made it to the semifinals, finished eighth, after which in the consolatory final B showed the seventh result at the finish.
