"One Hundred Islands" ( Eng. Hundred Islands National Park , ilok. Nailian a Parke ti Ginasut nga Is-isla , pang. Kapulo-puloan ) - a national park in the province of Pangasinan ( Ilocos region, Philippines ) in the water area of Lingayen Bay .

Content
Description
The national park covers an area of 18.44 km² and consists of 124 islands (of which one is completely hidden under water during high tides). The nearest city is [1] , the managing organization is the Philippines Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources . For visiting, tourists are equipped with only four of the 124 islands: the Governor, Quezon, Marcos and Detsky [2] .
The islands are estimated at two million years old, all of them are ancient coral reefs that came to the surface in connection with a decrease in the level of the World Ocean.
Among the notable inhabitants of the Hundred Islands, the following species can be noted: cynomolgus monkey , musang , dugong , Malaysian dolphin , monitor lizards , green tortoise , olive turtle , yellow-lipped flat-tailed , netted python .
History
The national park was founded on January 18, 1940 [3] , and then its area was determined at 16.76 km². Later it was slightly expanded to the current 18.44 km².
