Catherine La Ora "Cathy" Boswell ( born Catherine La Ora "Cathy" Boswell ; born November 10, 1962 , Joliet , Illinois , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who managed to play in various European championships. As part of the national team, the United States became the champion of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles [1] .

US Career
Boswell was a member of the team representing the United States in 1980 at the William Jones Cup Competition in Taipei , Taiwan . The US team finished the tournament with a balance of meetings 7-2, however, two more teams showed the same result. However, the US team did not win the tie-break, and as a result, its players were awarded bronze medals [2] . Boswell was also part of the team representing the United States in the same championship in 1982. The star-strikers won the first seven matches, but then lost to the invincible team of Canada, which beat the US team with a score of 70:67, leaving the Americans with silver medals [3] .
In 1983, Boswell represented the US team at the World Student Games led by Jill Hutchison in Edmonton , Canada . Although the starbands lost to the Romania national team in the preliminary round, then they were able to win every remaining game so as not to drop out of the race for medals. The Americans in a difficult struggle managed to defeat the Yugoslav national team with a score of 86:85, and also won a rematch against the Romanians: the US team lost after the first half, but was able to seize the initiative in the second half, eventually winning the game with a score of 83:61, and with it gold medals. The result of Boswell was 4.7 points on average per game [4] .
In 1984, as part of the US team, Katie again performed at the William Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan, as a pre-Olympic practice. The Americans easily outplayed each of the eight competing teams, with an average of just under 50 points per game. The result of Boswell was 7.0 points on average per game [5] .
In the same year, Boswell appeared on the national team at the Los Angeles Summer Olympics . The team won all six games and its players were awarded gold medals. Her indicator was 4.0 points on average per game [6] .
