- Answer of 16-year-old Robert Fischer (future 11th world chess champion) to Mikhail Tal (future 8th world champion) during the tournament of the 1959 contenders tournament about the game of the USSR chess champion Larisa Volpert : “She is too careful . But you have another chess player - Dmitrieva. I like her parties! ” [9] [10] .
- “The words of the Leningrad Flora Dmitrieva that she will either play by virtue of leading male masters or stop performing, aroused mainly an ironic attitude, albeit“ seasoned ”with politeness ...” [11] .
- From an interview with the 10th World Chess Champion Boris Spassky : “The coach’s talent must be special ... I have an example. I was invited to work with Flora Dmitrieva, who was the champion of Leningrad ... So, I gave her advice: “Flora, don’t think about life, just play as you like and how you feel.” So she was in last place at the next championship. After that, I realized that I have to be very careful with my talent as a coach ” [12] .
