Biography

Born on September 20, 1903 in the village of Derman , now Zdolbunovsky district, Rivne region . Ukrainian .

In the ranks of the Red Army since 1923. He graduated from the 14th Poltava Infantry School in 1925. From August 1925 - platoon commander , from October 1927 - platoon regiment school platoon commander, from June 1930 - military unit adjutant of the battalion , from September of the same year - company commander , from July 1932 - t.v.a. Assistant Chief of Staff of the 130th Rifle Regiment. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1927. Since June 1933 - the battalion commander of the 232nd Infantry Regiment.

In December 1933, enrolled as a student at the Military Academy of Mechanization and Motorization of the Red Army . Since November 23, 1938 - the head of the educational part of the Advanced Training Courses for the command staff at the VAMM. From February 1939, he was an assistant in the department of tactics; from June 14, 1940, he was an assistant professor in the department of tactics of the same academy.

Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. On June 24, 1941, he was appointed head of the 1st (operational) department of command of the armored forces of the North-Western Front . Since June 13, 1942 - Chief of Staff of the UABTV PNZF (since January 1943 - the management of BTіMV PNZF). Since June 6, 1943 - Chief of Staff of the 1st Mechanized Corps. March 11, 1944 awarded the military rank of "Major General of the tank forces." From October 1944 to February 1945 he was treated for illness.

Since February 1945 - Head of the Solikamsk Tank School . Since March 1947 - student of the Higher Academic Courses at the K.E. Voroshilov Military Academy . In the years 1948-1950 - Head of the Ulyanovsk Tank School . From October 1958, he was the head of the department; from July 1961, he was the head of the faculty of the Military Academy of Armored Forces.

On September 21, 1966, Major General of the Tank Forces I.N. Demchuk went into reserve, on December 31, 1968, he resigned. He died in 1980, was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery.

Awards

He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1948 [2] ), four Orders of the Red Banner (03/21/1943, 03/03/1944 [2] , 1953 [2] ), the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (08/08/1944) and medals .
