Biography
Born in a working class family. He began his career in 1926 as a student of a shoemaker. Then he labored with the prosperous peasants of the Kupyansky district of Kharkov region, where his parents moved.
In 1928 - 1931 - a laborer at a brick factory and an oil factory in the Velikoburluksky district of Kharkov region, secretary and chairman of the Prikolotnyansky village council of Velikoburluksky district.
Member of the CPSU (b) since 1931 .
In 1931 - 1936 - Head of the propaganda department of the Velikoburluksky district committee of the Komsomol, the secretary of the editorial board of the district newspaper, chairman of the Velikoburluksky district council of trade unions, deputy secretary of the district committee of the Communist Party (b) U, editor of the Velikoburluksky district newspaper “Banner of the Collective Farm” in Kharkiv Oblast.
In 1936 - 1941 - student of the Ukrainian Communist Institute of Journalism in Kharkov. At the same time he worked as secretary of the party committee of the institute.
In 1941, he performed special tasks in the defense of the city of Kharkov, and served as commander of a battalion of the first regiment of the Kharkov militia. After a serious wound, he was evacuated to the eastern regions of the USSR.
In 1941 - 1943 - head of the propaganda and propaganda department of the Bezymensky district committee of the CPSU (b) of the Saratov region, head of the political department of the Kirov machine and tractor station of the Bezymensky district of the Saratov region of the RSFSR.
In 1943 - 1944 - head of the political department of the Shipuvatsky machine and tractor station of the Velikoburluksky district of Kharkov region; instructor of the propaganda and agitation department, head of the press sector of the Kharkiv regional committee of the Communist Party (b) U.
In 1944 - January 1949, executive editor of the Kharkiv regional newspaper Socialist Kharkovshchina. He graduated in absentia from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU (B.).
In January 1949 - 1950 - Secretary of the Kharkov Regional Committee of the Communist Party (B) U for propaganda and agitation.
In 1950 - executive editor of the republican newspaper Pravda Ukrainy.
In 1950 - 1951 - Head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) U.
In 1952 - 1953 - head of the department of fiction and art of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
In 1953 - 1965 - executive editor of the republican newspaper Pravda Ukrainy.
In January 1966 - August 25, 1972 - Chairman of the Press Committee of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR.
September 1, 1972 - October 22, 1974 - Chairman of the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR for publishing, printing and book trade.
Since October 1974 - retired in the city of Kiev.
