Kosovo Albanian. Born in with. Gora in the Prizren area. Educated at the Franciscan school in Chiprovtsi , then at the Collegium Illyricum in Ancona ( Italy ). His uncle Andrea Bogdani (c. 1600–1683) was the archbishop of the Archdiocese of Skopje (1656–1677), the author of Latin-Albanian grammar.

In 1651-1654 he served as a priest in Pulati. In 1656 he graduated from the Pontifical Urban University of the Congregation for the Propaganda of Faith in Rome , and became a doctor of philosophy and theology.

In 1656, he was elected archbishop of the archdiocese of Shkodra , which he governed until 1681. In 1671 he was also appointed administrator of the archdiocese of Bar .

During the Turkish-Austrian war (1664–1669), he hid from the Ottomans in villages near Shkodra , then in Bulgaria. The cave in which he took refuge still bears his name. Nevertheless, he was captured by the Turks and imprisoned in a fortress in Shkodra, from where he was saved by the brothers.

In 1677, he replaced his uncle as Archbishop of the Archbishopric of Skopje and Apostolic Administrator of the Kingdom of Serbia.

His religious and patriotic activities put him in opposition with the Ottoman authorities, as a result, he was forced to flee to Ragusa ( Dubrovnik ), from where he later moved to Venice and Padua .

In March 1686, Bogdani returned to the Balkans and, in subsequent years, helped to intensify resistance to the troops of the Ottoman Empire, in particular in Kosovo . He and his vicar Toma Raspasani played a leading role in creating the pro-Austrian movement in Kosovo during the Great Turkish War . With his help, an Albanian detachment of 6,000 soldiers was organized for the Austrian army, which participated in the capture of Prizren . Bogdani returned to Pristina, where he died of the plague in December 1689. His nephew reported that in 1698 the remains of his uncle, as the worst enemy of the Ottoman Empire, were exhumed by Turkish and Tatar soldiers and thrown to be eaten by dogs in the center of the square in Pristina.
