5 mm Bergmann - an unusual central ignition cartridge , designed for one of the earliest pocket pistols Bergman-Schmeiser 1894 and Bergman 1896 No. 2 [1] . The sleeve is cone-shaped and is fixed in the chamber on the walls of the sleeve. The early versions (sometimes called the 5 mm Bergmann Rimless) were made without a hem and a groove - the spent cartridge case was removed from the chamber by the pressure of powder gases. Later, when Bergman's pistols received an extractor, the cartridges began to be manufactured with a groove and a half-flange sleeve. The long bullet was not sufficiently stabilized and tended to roll over in flight [5] .
