Titia de Lange ( Dutch: Titia de Lange ; born November 11, 1955 , Rotterdam) is a Dutch scientist, works are mainly devoted to cell biology , studies of genes and telomeres have brought fame. In 2013, she was awarded the prize for a breakthrough in the field of medicine - for the study of telomeres [1] . Name Professor ( Leon Hess Professor ) and Head of the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Genetics, Rockefeller University . Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Netherlands (2000) [2] , foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States (2006) [3] .

She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1985 from the University of Amsterdam and the Netherlands Cancer Institute. From 1985 to 1990, the Fello Postdoc at the University of California at San Francisco in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Harold Varmus . Since 1990, he has been teaching at Rockefeller University, where he is now also a research professor at the American Society of Oncology and director of the Anderson University Cancer Research Center. Member of the Editorial Board of Genes & Development .
