Richard Schmeiser (later Richard Hartmann, born August 20, 1954) is a former German gymnast.

Sporting Achievements
She won prizes at the Youth Spartakiad of the GDR in 1968, the GDR Championship in artistic gymnastics in 1976.
Richard Schmeiser took part in gymnastics competitions at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, where she won a silver medal with the GDR team. Her best personal result was eighth place in the exercises on the uneven bars [1] . In personal all-around she was the twelfth.
At the world championships in 1970 and 1974, she won three silver medals in team competitions [2] .
In 1975, at the European Championships in Skien (Norway), she also won silver in the vault [3] .
After completing her sports career, Schmeiser worked as a coach and choreographer at SC Chemie Halle Sports Club, then worked as an insurance agent.
Rewards
In 1972, Schmeiser was awarded the Order of the German Democratic Republic "For Merit to the Fatherland" 3rd degree (bronze) .
