Parliamentary elections in Gabon were held on February 24, 1980 . By the time of the elections in Gabon, a one-party system had been established and the Gabonese Democratic Party was the only authorized political party. She received all 89 seats of the expanded National Assembly . Voter turnout turned out to be 108% of the number of registered voters [1] , which was caused by permission to register directly on election day [2] .
