Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization

Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization ( Azerb. Azərbaycan Milli dirəniş Təşkilatı , آذربایجان میللی دیرنیش تشکیلاتی ; person ت لات مقاومت ملی آذربایجان ) is a political organization established in Azerbaijan in 2006 . The organization’s goal is the struggle for the right of self-determination of Azerbaijanis in Iran . ^[1] . ^[2]

The Azerbaijan National Organization of Resistance aims at holding a referendum under the supervision of the UN in southern Azerbaijan and other national regions of Iran for the rights of their people to self-determination ^{[1] [3]} .

On December 12, 2012, the Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization, along with the eight main South Azerbaijani political organizations, sent a letter to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon asking him to support the referendum on self-determination in South Azerbaijan. The letter was specially sent on December 12, since it was on this day that the Azerbaijani national government of 1945-46 was liquidated by the Iranian army . in southern Azerbaijan ^[1] .

The Azerbaijan National Resistance Organization takes an active part in the mass protests taking place in South Azerbaijan. For example, during the 2006 caricature scandal, the organization’s city committees played an exceptional role in national demonstrations at stadiums, events near Lake Urmia and the position of Azerbaijani active silence during the Green Movement in Iran ^[1] .
