Belyakov, Ivan Timofeevich

Ivan Timofeevich Belyakov ( January 14, 1919 - 1996 ) - Soviet and Russian scientist, aircraft manufacturer. Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1979). Rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) from 1972 to 1986.

Biography

Born on January 14, 1919 in the village of Bereznyachi (now - Gorlovsky district of the Moscow region).

He graduated from high school in Moscow and entered the Moscow Aviation Institute. In 1941, he was evacuated with the institute in Alma-Ata. In 1942, he was sent to Irkutsk to the plant No. 39 of the NKAP: he worked as an instructor, engineer, head of the bureau of technical regulation.

In 1944-1945 he continued his studies at the Moscow Aviation Institute. After receiving his diploma, he worked there as a senior lecturer in the Department of Aircraft Production and as a deputy dean of the Aircraft Engineering Department. In 1952 he defended his thesis and was approved in the academic rank of assistant professor.

In 1952-1955 - on a business trip to China, adviser on the organization of the Beijing Aviation Institute.

Doctor of Technical Sciences (1966), Professor (1967). Since 1968 - Vice-rector for scientific work, in 1972-1986 - rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute. Since 1970 - Head of the Department "Engineering Technology" of the "Aircraft" faculty.

He is the author of studies in the field of the theory of the effectiveness of structural and technological solutions of components and assemblies of aircraft, the theory of computer aided design and technological preparation of production.
