Vladimir Stepanovich Basov ( September 24, 1909 , St. Petersburg - the date and place of death are not known) - production leader, turner of the Leningrad paper-making machine factory named after the 2nd five-year plan of the USSR Ministry of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. Biography
Born in St. Petersburg in a working class family. Since 1926 he worked as a turner in the tool shop of the paper machine factory in Leningrad.
He made several rationalization proposals and inventions, which led to an increase in labor productivity and a decrease in the cost of machinery. He developed a method for manufacturing blades of a paper machine from synthetic materials. In 1966 he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor "for outstanding success in completing the tasks of the seventh five-year plan, high quality products and innovative work" [1] .
