Bedřich Supchik ( October 22, 1898 in Trumau , Lower Austria - July 11, 1957 , Pisek, Czechoslovakia) - former Czechoslovak gymnast , Olympic champion, medalist of the world championship in gymnastics in Luxembourg.

He took part in gymnastics competitions at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris , where he won a gold medal in rope climbing , a bronze medal in personal all-around [1] .
At the 1928 Summer Olympics in Paris, he won a silver medal in team competition.
Biography
Bedřich Supchik was born on October 22, 1898 into a large Czech family in the city of Trumau near Vienna in Austria.
In 1924, he took part in gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games in Paris, where he won a gold medal in rope climbing. His time in climbing a rope 8 meters long was 7.2 seconds. Shortly after returning from the Olympics, he married. The newlyweds moved to live in Prague. Soupster continued to do gymnastics. In 1930, he won a silver medal in ring competitions at the world championship in gymnastics in Luxembourg .
During World War II, he worked as a fire extinguisher seller, then an expert on fire safety.
In 1948, he suffered a heart attack and, at the insistence of the family, moved from Prague to the quiet village of Horosedly (his wife’s birthplace) 25 km north of Pisek. Soon, however, another seizure occurred, after which he retired on disability.
Having lost his job, being an invalid, barely making ends meet, he got a job as an insurance agent. After a third heart attack, he did not return home. Bedřich Supchik died at the age of 58. He was buried in a new cemetery in the town of Mirowice near Pisek.
