Club career

Afonso is a pupil of the clubs of Estrel Amador and the Lisbon Benfica . In 1993, he made his debut as the basis of the Eagles in the Sangrish League . In the same year, Nuno became the champion of Portugal, although he spent only one match. In 1994, he left Benfica and, in search of playing practice, played for Belenensis and Campoirense . In 1996, Afonso decided to try his hand outside of Portugal and moved to the Spanish β€œ Salamanca ”, but again faced with high competition and returned to his homeland at the end of the season.

In Portugal, he continued to play for second-tier clubs. After playing for Pasush de Ferreira , Maritimo , Aves , Oliveirense and Vitoria Setubal , Nuno again went to Spain, signing a contract with the team of one of the lower divisions Dieter Zafra . In 2003, Afonso ended his football career.

International Career

In 1993, as part of the Portuguese youth team, Nuno took part in the World Youth Championships in Australia .

In 1996, Afonso as part of the Portuguese Olympic team took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta . In the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Brazil [1] and Argentina [2] .
