Chevalier Albert-Francois de Croix ( fr. Albert-François de Croÿ ; d. September 11, 1709, Malplack ( Tenier-sur-On , Picardy ) - French officer, participant in the wars of Louis XIV .

The third son of Philippe-Emmanuel-Ferdinand de Croix , Prince de Solre, and Anna-Marie-Francoise de Bournonville.

He entered the service as a musketeer in 1693, participated in the Battle of Nervinden and the siege of Charleroi , and in 1694 in a march from Vignamon to the Espierre Bridge.

July 29, 1695 became captain of the Dragoons regiment of Kelyus; commanded a company in the army of Mesa in 1695-1677.

On July 25, 1700 he received the commission of the colonel of the infantry regiment of his name, in 1701 he commanded him in the battles of Carpi and Chiari , the defense of Cremona , where he was captured on February 1, 1702. Exchanged almost immediately, in the same year he participated in the battle of Lutzar , the capture of this place and Borgoforte in Trentino , and the capture of Nago and Arco in 1703, in the sieges of Vercelli , Ivrea and Verue, and the battle of Cassano in 1704-1705.

In 1706 he took part in the siege of Turin and the battle of Castiglion , in 1707 he served in the Dauphiné army.

June 19, 1708 was promoted to foreman , continued his service in the Dauphiné army, and participated in the Cezanne attack.

In 1709 he served in the Flanders Army, on August 31, after the resignation of his elder brother, he received his post of colonel in the Solra regiment. He died in the battle of Malplack , leading the attack of his regiment.
