Doris Gudrun Fuchs (later Brause, born June 11, 1938 in Baden-Württemberg , Germany ) is a former American gymnast who won four gold medals at the 1963 Pan American Games. She also participated in gymnastics competitions at the Summer Olympics in 1956 and 1960. In 1956, she took ninth place in team competitions. Her best personal result in 1960 was the eighth place in parallel bars in 1960 [2] [3] .

In 1982, she was inducted into the American Gymnastics Hall of Fame [4] .
Fuchs was born into a wealthy family. Before practicing gymnastics, she trained in javelin throwing and a triple jump . Her sister Inge was also a famous gymnast. [4] During the 1960 Olympics, Soviet boxer Boris Nikonorov made friends with Fuchs. In 1963, during the competition in Moscow, Fuchs visited Nikonorov, they had a long correspondence by mail [3] .
