He played in Serie A for Roma and Internazionale , as well as the Italian national team .

Club career

In adult football, he made his debut in 1947 with appearances for the Vignolese club team, in which he spent one season.

His game attracted the attention of the representatives of the coaching staff of the metropolitan Roma , which he joined in the summer of 1948. On September 19, 1948, Venturi made his debut for the “wolves” in the match against Bologna (1: 2) and has since become the club’s main main striker, scoring 100 goals in 288 championships over nine seasons [2] . Including played 37 matches (6 goals) in the 1951/52 season, when the team played in Serie B and helped her with the first attempt to win the second division and return to the top Italian division. He was the captain of the club from 1953 to 1957 [3] .

Throughout 1957-1960 he defended the colors of the Internationale , but was not a base player.

He completed his professional playing career at Brescia , for which he played during the 1960/61 season, having played 26 matches in Serie B, in which he scored 2 goals.

Team appearances

On November 11, 1951 he made his debut in official matches as part of the Italian national team in a friendly match against Sweden , which ended in a draw 1: 1.

The following year, as a member of the national team, he was a participant in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki , where he played in both matches of his team in the tournament. In the first match against the US team, Venturi scored one of the Italians' goals and helped defeat the opponent with a score of 8: 0, however, in the second game, the Italians were beaten by the Hungarians 0: 3 and left the tournament [4] .

In total, during the career in the national team, which lasted 3 years, he spent 6 matches in the form of the country's main team, scoring 1 goal.

Coach Career

At the end of his playing career, he became a coach of the Internationale youth team. In particular, he helped establish the future legend of Inter and the Italian national team Giuseppe Bergomi .

With the advent of Giovanni Trapattoni on Inter's coaching bridge in 1986, Venturi was approved as an assistant coach for the main team. In 1991, together with Trapattoni, he joined Juventus , where he also held the position of assistant coach.

After Trapattoni left Juventus in the summer of 1994, Venturi became the director of Bologna, where he worked for several years, and then retired.
