Career

Club

Until 2002, Dominicovic played in the Croatian championship, from 2002 to 2004 he played abroad in the German championship in the clubs Kiel and Kronau-Estringen. In the summer of 2004, it was acquired by the club of the second Spanish league “Algesiras”, and in November it already became a part of “Barcelona” [1] . In 2006, Dominicovich became a player of San Antonio, where he left in 2010 [2] , after he signed a contract with the Paris Club PSG, and a season later went to the French Ivry [3] .

In the summer of 2013, Dominicovich canceled the agreement with Ivry and moved to Hamburg [4] [5] , in which he played more in the defense line. Since November 2015, he has represented Balingen-Weilstetten [6] . He completed his career at the end of the 2016/2017 season.

Team

Dominicovich played 174 games for the Croatian national team and scored 205 goals. He became in its composition the world champion in Portugal in 2003, the Olympic champion in 2004 in Athens and twice the champion of the Mediterranean Games of 1997 and 2001.

Before the 2007 World Cup, Dominicovich was unexpectedly disqualified on charges of doping: according to the conclusion of the Spanish laboratory, the Dominicovich’s doping test “A” gave a positive result. However, soon the Spaniards said they mixed up the samples in the analysis. As it turned out, in Dominicovich no illicit drugs were found in the doping test [7] . In 2014, the laboratory was forced to pay 150 thousand euros of compensation to the player [8] .

Coaching career

Currently, Dominicovic is the coach of the Sesvet club and the Croatian youth team; in 2019, his wards became silver medalists of the World Cup in Spain.
