Govorova, Elena Ivanovna

Elena Ivanovna Govorova (born September 18, 1973 in Izmail ) is a Ukrainian athlete who specialized in long jump and triple jump, winner of the 2000 Olympic Games . Full holder of the Order of Princess Olga [1] [2] [3] .

Govorova’s coach was Tatyana Ivanovna Mardashova . [4] Bronze Olympic medal Elena Govorova won the triple jump at the Sydney Olympics. Her best result in this discipline is 14 m 96 cm. In general, she took part in three Olympiads.

In 1997, Govorova was third in the triple jump at the World Championships in Athletics, twice, in 1997 and 1999, she won the triple jump at the Universiades .

Elena Govorova was a frequent guest of Megasport TV channel, where she commented on athletics competitions. During the Beijing Olympics, she and Roman Virastiuk conducted a program on the channel, which summed up the sports day.

During the Olympics in London in 2012, together with Savik Shuster led the “Olympic Passions” on the First National TV Channel .
