Club career
As a child, Roland went through training cycles in three Hungarian youth academies - Dioshyer, Siofok and Videoton. In 2014, the 17-year-old Roland was transferred to the youth farm club “ Videoton ” “ Pushkash Academy ”. On August 1, 2014 he made his debut in the Hungarian championship in a duel against Paks , having entered the field to replace [2] . In total, in the debut season he held 16 meetings, in five of them he left in the first team. He scored 2 goals - the first on September 14, at the goal of the Hungarian grand - Ferencvaros [3] . In the 2015/16 season he became the main player, took part in 31 games, in 29 he left in the starting lineup. And, although the team flew out of the Premier League for the season, Shallai attracted the attention of various European football clubs.
In the summer of 2016 was leased for a season to the Italian club " Palermo " with subsequent redemption right [4] . On August 21, 2016 he made his debut in Serie A in a duel against Sassuolo , replacing Accursio Bentivena instead of [5] . Spent 21 matches in the championship, scored 1 Udinese goal. But at the end of the season, Palermo dropped out in Serie B.
On August 29, 2017, the Cyprus APOEL signed a three-year contract with the player until May 2020. The transfer amount from the “Puskash Academy” amounted to 2 million euros. His debut in the new team took place on September 9 in a match against Nea Salamina , where he scored a goal. He confidently became a base player, spent 29 games in the championship and scored 9 goals. At the end of the season, he became the champion of Cyprus with the club.
In August 2018, APOEL received an offer of 4.5 million euros for Shallai from the Bundesliga club “ Freiburg ” [6] and, of course, issued its record transfer [7] .
Team Career
Player of youth and youth teams. He took part in qualifying tournaments for the youth European championships, but did not go to the final part with the team. A participant in the 2015 World Youth Championship , he held two meetings at the tournament [8] [9] , and the team did not leave the group from third place and lost in 1/8.
May 20, 2016 he made his debut in the national team of Hungary in a friendly match against the team of Côte d'Ivoire [10] .
