Biography

Born in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A teenager with his mother moved to Leningrad. He entered the construction site as a laborer, learned to be a carpenter, then (from 1949) began working as a bricklayer in the 10th Department of Trust No. 20.

In 1955-1957, on the Komsomol permit, he worked at the youth shock construction site (Kazan-Sverdlovsk railway, building the second track) as a traveling worker, concrete worker, bricklayer, and foreman of ballasts.

Upon his return, he was appointed as a foreman of the integrated brigade of 40 people (later up to 70).

Potepkin's team each object handed over ahead of schedule, with a high score, the output is much higher than the norm.

For achievements in the 7th five-year plan (his team built 30 thousand square meters of housing) in 1965 he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.

Twice elected deputy of Lensoveta. Delegate of the XXIII Congress of the CPSU (1966).

Family: wife, two children.

Buried at the Red Cemetery. His grave is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance [1] .

Awards
