Pope ( Latvian: Pope ) is a settlement in the Ventspils region of Latvia . The administrative center of Popsky volost . Located on the A10 (E22) highway. The distance to the city of Ventspils is about 20 km [1] . According to data for 2015, 598 people lived in the village [2] . There is a volost administration, an elementary school, a kindergarten, a culture house, a library, a museum, a post office, a feldsher point, a hotel, a Lutheran church, a cemetery.

History
First mentioned in 1231. In the XVII century a manor was built here (later rebuilt) [3] .
In Soviet times, the village was the center of the Popsky Village Council of Ventspils District . In the village was the collective farm "Sarkana Bulta" [1] .
