Philippine Island Groups
The state of the Philippines is an island: it consists of about 7,500 islands , islets , reefs and atolls , of which about 2,000 are inhabited, and more than 5,000 do not even have an official name. All these islands are divided into three groups : Luzon (north), Visayas (center) and Mindanao (south) [1] .
The following are the largest and / or most famous islands of the Philippines. In brackets, semicolons give the area (km²), population (people) and some comments. For the most part, the number of inhabitants is indicated according to the 2010 census and 2015 estimate, however, due to lack of information, data from the 2000 census or estimates from 2001-2009 are indicated in some places.
