History

Artas was founded in 2006 in Vienna ( Austria ). Guitarists Hannes and Sid, bassist Radek, drummer Chris and vocalist Obimahan originally named the band “Staub & Schatten” - it was with this lineup and with that name that the band performed and won the 2007 Metalchamp competition. After the victory, they were offered a contract by the European Napalm Records . Shortly after the conclusion of the contract, the group was renamed “Artas” and, under the direction of Jacob Hansen, recorded his debut album. They call this album The Healing and publish it on September 26, 2008 . It is noteworthy that the album contained songs not only in German , but also in English and even in Spanish ; also in the album, the group included their cover of the song Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise . In 2009, Artas traveled as a warm-up band for Hatesphere , and in 2010 similarly for Callejon . On January 28, 2011, their second album, Riotology, was released [1]

The group plays in the genre of thrash metal with elements of melodic death metal.
