Firs comes from Caesarea Vifinskaya , suffered at Decius, for denouncing the governor of the region of Kumvriky ( ancient Greek Κουμρο ) of cruelty to Christians. Imprisoned in prison, Firs received freedom after the death of Decius and died in Apolloniades, along with the martyrs Leucius and Callinicus . Around 397, Flavius Caesarea built a magnificent temple of Firs outside the walls of Constantinople, in which his relics were laid. Another temple was built by Justinian near the Elenianovs, not far from Theodosius market.
