Biography

Pyotr Afonsky was born in the village of Korenevo, Kursk province (now an urban-type village of Kursk region ). He began to print in 1925, while still a student in the history department of Moscow University , which he graduated in 1930. Then he published his first book of essays, "Spring Attack." After serving in the army, he began to be published in the magazines Crocodile , Pepper, and others as the author of humorous stories and feuilletons.

Member of World War II . He went through the battles for the liberation of Odessa , Moldova , Yugoslavia . He was wounded several times. In Hungary , near Lake Balaton . received a fifth wound and barely survived, managing to escape from a burning self-propelled gun. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner , the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and medals [2] .

After the war, he continued his writing career. In 1946 he was enrolled in the staff of the journal "Pepper". As a playwright, he released a series of multi-genre plays. In addition, he worked as a screenwriter at the Kiev film studio . The comedy according to his script “The Queen of the gas station ” became one of the leaders of the Soviet film distribution in 1963 (5th place) [3] .

Member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine since 1952. For more than 40 years he led the literary association named after Oles Donchenko in Lubny (hence his creative pseudonym Lubensky).

Was married.

Son - Victor Petrovich Athos (in a civil marriage with Ageeva Maria Ivanovna)

Daughter - Anna Pavlovna Mirgorodskaya [4] .

Peter Lubensky died on February 17, 2003 in Kiev at the age of 95.
