Biography
In 1930 he entered the medical faculty of Sofia University , which he graduated in 1935. Since 1936 he switched to a teaching career. From 1936 to 1950, he taught continuing education courses at the Institute for Advanced Medical Studies, and from 1950 he was elected professor at this institute. In 1952 he was elected rector of this institute, he held this position until 1956. In 1956, he became seriously ill and was treated until 1960. In 1960, he recovered and returned to science, where he was immediately elected director of the Institute of Nutrition, at the same time he headed the nutrition pathology section in the same place and worked until 1972. In 1972, he was elected director of the Hygiene Center and worked until his death.
Scientific work
The main scientific works are devoted to the problems of gastroenterology and medical nutrition. He is the author of a number of monographs, manuals on rational and dietary nutrition, as well as gastroenterology, as well as books on the same issues. Most books are translated into foreign languages.
- He proposed and introduced new methods of gastrointestinal therapy.
- He conducted original research in order to study the therapeutic effect of many food products, in particular vegetable and fruit plants, on the human body.
- Developed the scientific basis of therapeutic nutrition.
