Biography
Jules Etienne Joseph Kishra was born on October 13, 1814 in the city of Paris . He graduated from the famous Parisian college of Saint Barbara, where he studied under Jules Michelet , from whom he inherited a fascination with history. Kishra thanked his school with a three-volume “History of the College of St. Barbara” ( French: “Histoire de Sainte-Barbe” ; 1860 - 1864 ).
The founder of Société de l'Ecole des chartes, in whose publication ("Bibliothèque") published many historical works.
The main work of Kishra is the monograph “The process of the curse and acquittal of Joan of Arc” ( French Procès de condamnation et réhabilitation de Jeanne d'Arc ; Paris, 1841–1849 , in 5 volumes), which published many historical documents. He also wrote The History of Costume in France ( French: Histoire du costume en France ; 1874 ) and others.
Jules Etienne Joseph Kishra died on April 8, 1882 in his hometown.
After Kishr's death, his Mélanges d'archéologie et d'histoire came out, with a biography (P., 1885 - 1886 ).
For more than thirty years ( 1847 - 1878 ), the discharge of the duties of a professor of archeology made Kishra a teacher of almost all the leading French archaeologists of the second half of the 19th century, thanks to which he was considered the father of French archeology.
