Elegeion (originally Transcendence ) is an Australian band from Melbourne playing doom / gothic music with black metal elements.

It was founded in 1995 by Anthony Kwan under the name Transcendence . After signing a contract with Candlelight Records in 1997, the group changed its name to Elegeion . The songs of the group are mostly sustained in the spirit of sadness and melancholy.
