Pia Alonso Wurtsbach (born September 24, 1989 , also known as Pia Romero ) is a Filipino actress, TV presenter, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20, 2015.

Born in Stuttgart , Germany , in a German and Filipino family. Grew up in the Philippines . She began acting in films at the age of four under the stage name Pia Romero. Her parents divorced when she was 11 years old. She speaks English, Sebuan , Tagalog and a little German. She won the Miss Philippines title only on her third attempt, taking part in a local beauty contest since 2013.
