Severin Kiefer (sometimes his name is spelled Zeverin) ( German: Severin Kiefer ; born October 11, 1990 , Kuhl , Salzburg , Austria ) is an Austrian skater . Initially performed in the men's singles , bronze medalist of the Austrian championship . From the year 2009-2010, he also began to perform in pair skating with Stina Martini and became the three-time national champion with her. Then he paired up with Miriam Ziegler , with whom he won the Austrian championship four times, but by that moment had stopped performing in single skating.

Biography
Severin Kiefer was born in 1990. From childhood, he became interested in figure skating. Initially, he acted as a loner. Not much success in this category. However, he managed once in 2008 to perform in Sofia at the Junior World Cup .
At this time in Austria there were no greenhouses and then Severin began to try to slide with Stina Martini in pairs. Two years later, they already performed in The Hague at the junior world championship . A year later, the couple began to perform among adults, the athletes made their debuts at the European and World Championships in Bern and Moscow, respectively.
Since the 2012/2013 season, Severin changed her partner, she became a former single Ziegler. In the Olympic season, Austria did not receive quotas for pair skating, but was in the nearest reserve. After a series of failures, the Austrian couple got the right to speak at the Winter Olympics . The couple took 17th place in Sochi .
Very confident, the couple began the season 2015/2016. Skaters at the Nepel Memorial in Slovakia improved their previous achievements in the free program and amount [2] . Two weeks later, the Austrian skaters won silver at the Nice Cup [3] . At the end of October, the couple performed at the stage of the series of the Grand Prix of Skate Canada ; where they were in sixth place. At the same time, sports achievements in total and free program were improved [4] . Then the couple performed at the Trophée Bompard Grand Prix stage, however, after short programs, the competitions were canceled for safety reasons (a series of terrorist attacks took place in the French capital). At the national championships, the couple again became champions of the country and a month later they played at the European championships in neighboring Slovakia , where they managed to improve their previous achievement in the short program and finish in the top ten. Two months later, in the USA at the world championship, the Austrian couple did not qualify for the final part.
The Austrian couple began a new pre-Olympic season in Nice at the Nice Cup , where they finished second [5] . In mid-November, the Austrians performed at the Grand Prix stage in Paris , where they finished last at the Trophée de France tournament [6] . At the end of November, they performed at the final stage of the Grand Prix in Sapporo , where they took the penultimate place, but at the same time previous sports achievements in the free program and amount were improved [7] . The couple took part in the national championship of 2017, but the skaters withdrew from the competition after a short program. In late January, the skaters performed at the European Championships in Ostrava , where they finished at the end of dozens, but at the same time improved their previous achievements in total and short program [8] . At the end of March, the Austrian champions played at the world championships in Helsinki , where they didn’t start very successfully, did not qualify for the final part and were unable to qualify for the Olympic Games at this stage. However, they managed to improve their previous achievement in the short program.
In September, an Austrian couple began the Olympic season in Bergamo , where they finished six in the Lombardy Cup [9] . At the end of the month, the couple took part in Obersdorf , where at the Nebelhorn qualification tournament , they finished next to the podium and managed to win a ticket to the Winter Olympics for their country [10] . They also managed to improve all their previous sports achievements. Three weeks later, they performed in the Grand Prix series at the Russian stage , where the couple finished in the middle of the tournament table [11] . They again managed to improve their previous achievements, though this time only in an arbitrary program. Three weeks later, the athletes took part in the Japanese stage of the Grand Prix series, where they finished in the middle of the tournament table [12] . In mid-December, in the capital of the country, the couple once again won gold medals. A huge success for the couple came in Moscow at the continental championship in mid-January, where they managed to finish among the eight best pairs of the Old World. Slightly improved their previous achievements in the free program and took the highest place in their sports career [13] . However, a month later in Gangneung at the Olympic Games, they failed, they could not reach the final part of the competition in South Korea.
