Biochemistry of Ribulose
Esters of ribulose and phosphoric acid - ribulose-5-phosphate and ribulose-1,5-diphosphate are involved in important metabolic processes; the decay of carbohydrates ( pentose phosphate cycle ), as well as their formation in green plants during photosynthesis .
Getting
Ribulose can be obtained by the action of alkali on arabinose or from formaldehyde in the presence of CaCO 3 .
