The head of large soldiers is oval, yellowish-brown, with 4 hairs at the base of the nose [2] .

Systematics

3 types. The genus was first isolated in 1912 [3] . The genus is included in the family group of the Nasutitermes Group [1] [4] .

  • Diversitermes castaniceps (Holmgren, 1910) - Bolivia , Brazil, Paraguay (= Eutermes (Constrictotermes) castaniceps Holmgren, 1910) [5]
= Diversitermes eidmanni Roonwal, Chhotani & Verma, 1981 (Brazil) [6] . It was synonymous in 2016 [4] .
  • Diversitermes diversimiles (Silvestri, 1901) - Argentina , Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay (= Eutermes diversimiles Silvestri, 1901) [7]
= Eutermes strelnicovi John 1920 (= Nasutitermes strelnicovi)
  • Diversitermes tiapuan Oliveira & Constantino, 2016 [4] .

Previously, the genus included the species Diversitermes aporeticus Mathews, 1977 ( Brazil ) [8] , which in 2016 was transferred to the genus Velocitermes Holmgren, 1912 [4] . The species Diversitermes needhami Roonwal, Chhotani & Verma, 1981 (Brazil) [6] is synonymous with the species Velocitermes heteropterus (Silvestri 1901) [4] .
