Study and Service

Born in Tyumen. He graduated from the Alexander Real School (1898). Worker, since 1895 - co-owner of the trading house "I. P. Kolokolnikov's heirs. ” Member of the Irbit Fair Committee. Since 1903, as a volunteer, he served in Manchuria. He participated in the Russian-Japanese war in the Tobolsk rifle regiment. In July 1904, he was seriously wounded in the leg on the flight with a knee injury [1] . In August 1904, personally by the Commander-in-Chief of the Manchurian Army, he was awarded a “nominal” St. George's Cross of the IV degree and 15 rubles. He was treated in Harbin, and later brother Stepan came after him and took him home [2] [3] .

In 1908, a graduate of the Moscow Agricultural Institute , while receiving the title of scientist-agronomist.

Commercial School

In 1910, together with his brother S. I. Kolokolnikov, he opened a private commercial school in Tyumen, in which he became the first director.

In 1912, V.I. Kolokolnikov studied at the Commercial Institute in Moscow , and attended the full course of this educational institution. He was fluent in French, German and English.

From 1912 to 1919 he served as director of a commercial school. As conceived by the founders, the school was supposed to train highly qualified personnel for the fast-growing industry and trade in the Tobolsk province. A variety of sciences were included in the curriculum: natural and humanitarian in large volumes, English, French, German, accounting, dance, music, art history. Among the teachers were: N. N. Shaposhnikov (Russian language and history), V. V. Komarov (God's Law, mathematics), L. P. Dumarevskaya (French language), E. G. Gan (German language), B. G. Verdi (natural history and geography), P. G. Melnikov (graphic arts). At the same time, B. G. Verdi, N. N. Shaposhnikov, V. V. Komarov were cool observers. The commercial school taught dance and music (teachers M.N. Despot-Zenovich and A.E. Kazanskaya respectively). A full-time doctor A.S. Gasilov and an extraordinary lecturer worked there.

Since the establishment of the school trading house "I. P. Kolokolnikov's heirs "at his own expense kept the school of poor, but gifted students, for which the" Society for the Assistance to Poor Students of the Kolokolnikovy School of Commerce in Tyumen "was created, the purpose of which was to" care for insufficient students. " The charter of the company states that the assistance of the company may be expressed in the following: “tuition fee payment; free distribution of books and manuals; the provision of clothing, food and shelter to the poor, if they cannot acquire their own labor; supplying poor patients with medical benefits, under the supervision of a physician at home and placing such patients at public expense in hospitals; appointment in exceptional cases of cash benefits " [4] . A note is also given here: “With the development of the Company's activities, assistance can also be rendered to those from those completing the course in college who, for continuing education, go to other educational institutions that are not part of the Company's activities. Assistance can be provided in this case only once and only such ... that deserve it because of their behavior, outstanding abilities and successes, witnessed by the school authorities " [4] .

In order to receive funds received by the fund of the society, evenings were arranged, lectures were given, supplemented by the subsequent concert section, and cinema sessions were held. In 1915, with the funds raised, the society established scholarships and an excursion fund named after Messrs. Kolokolnikovs.

Social activities

V.I. Kolokolnikov was actively engaged in gratuitous activities for the benefit of society. Among his public posts were:

  • Chairman of the City School Commission,
  • Member of the City Duma
  • a member of the city union of the war-injured assistance committee,
  • Member of the Tyumen Committee of the Union of Cities,
  • Chairman of the Military Industrial Committee
  • Chairman of the Public Security Committee
  • Duma representative at the initial Bezhensk 2nd City School,
  • the first congress of city voters of the Tyumen district was elected as an elector to the Tobolsk provincial electoral meeting in 1912 [5] .

Emigration

With the arrival of the Bolsheviks in 1919, V.I. Kolokolnikov left for Vladivostok, and there he founded the “Bezhenskiy Committee”, which provided assistance to Russian immigrants.

In 1920, Kolokolnikov moved to Yokohama. In the years 1922-1932, he became the head of the “Committee for Assistance to Russian Refugees” in Harbin . The Refugee Committee became the largest public organization that coordinated and directed the activities of numerous charitable, political, commercial, industrial and cultural societies. Refugees were provided with free medical care, money was provided, and charity dinners were organized. The committee helped get a job. Provided housing. The Beja Committee also played an important role in the preservation of Russian spirituality and culture.

In 1931, V.I. Koloklnikov opened the 1st Russian real school in Harbin; it was financed from the funds of the founder himself. From 1931 to 1935 he served as director of the newly opened real school. Since 1938, Kolokolnikov served first as a lecturer, and later as a professor at the North-Manchurian University.

He died at 11 am on April 3, 1941 in Harbin and was buried at the Monastery Cemetery.
