The Church of the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( Belorussian. Kastsole Unebaўzyatstsya Naysvyatseyshay Dzeva Maryi ) is a Catholic church in the village of Krasnoe , Belarus . It belongs to the Molodechno dean’s office of the Minsk-Mogilev archdiocese . An architectural monument in the neo - Gothic style [1] , built in 1908 - 1911 . The temple is included in the State list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus [1] .

Content
History
The Catholic parish in the village of Pleban (3 km south of Krasnoye) was founded around 1500.
In 1500 , Grand Duke Alexander Jagiellonchik laid a wooden Catholic church in the village. This building burned down during the Russo-Polish war of 1654-1667 [2] .
In 1695 , a new wooden church was built on the old site, consecrated in the name of the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The temple was located in the village of Pleban , but also served the Catholics of the Red.
In 1800 , construction began on the stone building of the temple, which stretched until 1858. After the suppression of the uprising of 1863, this temple was taken from the Catholics and transferred to the Orthodox [2] .
Immediately after the appearance of the tsarist manifesto “On strengthening the beginnings of religious tolerance” in 1905 , the Catholics of Krasnoye who were left without a church received a building permit in a short time and collected the necessary amount.
From 1908 to 1911, the construction of a stone church in the Neo-Gothic style was already underway directly in Red, at the end of construction it was consecrated under the historical name of the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary [2] .
In 1915 , Pavel Senkevich was rector of the Krasnensky Church of the Vileika Dean’s Church [3] .
The Catholic Church in Krasnoye never closed and continued to be active throughout the entire Soviet period of history [4] .
In 1946 - 1961 - priest of the temple was priests I.F. Morsanger [5] .
In 1988 - 1990 , the church was restored.
Architecture
Ascension Church is a three-nave one-tower basilica with a five-sided apse and side sacristy [1] . In the center of the main facade is a three-tier four- bell tower, fortified with angular stepped buttresses with pinnacles and completed with a high spire. The main entrance is decorated with a lancet portal , over which there is a round rose window . The side facades are rhythmically divided by double narrow lancet windows, niches and stepped buttresses in the piers. Gable roof over the altar with a small turret. The overlap of the inner space is vaulted, supported by four columns [1] .
