Story
The action begins in the mid-1960s and covers approximately 30 years of the characters' life. After marriage, musician Glenn Holland decides to settle down and leaves the life of an ever-traveling member of a musical group. He wants to write a significant work that will glorify his name, but he must first of all think about the maintenance of the family. Therefore, Holland takes a music teacher at a local John F. Kennedy school. At first, he does not see himself as a teacher and approaches the performance of his duties purely formally. As a result, students have no interest in his lessons, and work with the school orchestra is not glued. However, Mr. Holland gradually realizes that it is possible to attract the attention of schoolchildren by using elements of jazz and rock and roll in the classroom, and is more and more interested in the activities of the orchestra and theatrical circle. Meanwhile, a son is born to him, who is almost completely deaf from birth, which becomes a fierce blow for his father ...
